Frequently asked questions

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy FAQ

What happens at a pelvic health assessment?

We start with a conversation about your symptoms, history and goals. An internal assessment may be recommended and is only ever done with your informed consent, explained step by step beforehand.

Is pelvic health physiotherapy only for postpartum patients?

No. It also supports pelvic pain, bladder and bowel symptoms, and pelvic-floor concerns unrelated to pregnancy, for people of any age or stage of life.

Will I need an internal exam?

Not always, and never without your consent. Many aspects of pelvic-floor function can be assessed externally, and your physiotherapist will discuss what's appropriate for you.

How private is this service?

Sessions take place in a private room, and your comfort and consent guide every part of the assessment and treatment.
