The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated, compassionate and dependable Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) to join the Motiva team on a full-time or part-time basis.
The PTA will work closely with registered physiotherapists to support the delivery of individualized rehabilitation programs and provide patients with a positive, professional and encouraging treatment experience.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, values teamwork and wants to grow within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation environment.
Both experienced PTAs and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction and supervision of a registered physiotherapist, the PTA may assist with:
- Carrying out prescribed therapeutic exercise programs
- Guiding patients through strengthening, mobility, balance and functional exercises
- Monitoring patients during treatment sessions
- Providing exercise instruction and reinforcement according to the physiotherapist’s treatment plan
- Assisting with rehabilitation equipment and treatment-area setup
- Supporting patients during mobility and functional training
- Assisting with approved therapeutic modalities as directed by the physiotherapist
- Preparing treatment areas before and after patient appointments
- Cleaning and disinfecting treatment equipment and clinical areas
- Maintaining treatment-room organization and supplies
- Communicating relevant patient observations to the supervising physiotherapist
- Supporting patient flow throughout the clinic
- Providing a welcoming and professional patient experience
- Assisting with basic administrative or clinic-support duties when required
Scope note: The PTA works as part of the physiotherapy team and does not independently assess, diagnose or establish physiotherapy treatment plans.

Clinical Exposure
Depending on clinic needs and the supervising physiotherapist’s treatment plans, the PTA may have opportunities to support patients receiving care for:
- Musculoskeletal injuries
- Sports injuries
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
- Strength and conditioning
- Balance and fall-prevention programs
- Geriatric rehabilitation
- Neurological rehabilitation
- Motor vehicle accident rehabilitation
- Workplace injuries
- Chronic pain and mobility limitations
- General physiotherapy rehabilitation
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A Physiotherapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant, Rehabilitation Assistant or related diploma/certificate from a recognized program
- OR relevant education and clinical experience appropriate to a physiotherapy assistant role
Additional requirements include:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional and compassionate approach to patient care
- Ability to follow treatment instructions accurately
- Ability to work effectively under the direction of a registered physiotherapist
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently within assigned responsibilities and collaboratively as part of a team
- Reliable and professional work habits
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and privacy
- Comfort working in an active clinical environment
Assets
- Previous experience in a physiotherapy or rehabilitation clinic
- Experience assisting with therapeutic exercise
- Experience working with orthopedic or sports-injury patients
- Experience with seniors, neurological rehabilitation or balance training
- Knowledge of physiotherapy modalities and rehabilitation equipment
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience with electronic medical records or clinic-management software
- Previous customer-service or healthcare experience

Schedule
Both full-time and part-time availability will be considered. Potential availability may include weekdays, evenings and Saturdays.
